UCL MATCH DAY 1 ROUNDUP:Mahrez dazzles for Leicester, aguero,messi scores Hatrick



The UEFA Champions League returned on Tuesday and Wednesday with group openers for all eight groups.
On tuesday night,there was no rain but there was a flood of goals at the Camp Nou, where a sparkling Messi hat-trick with four assists and a goal from Neymar, Andres Iniesta and a Suarez brace humiliated Celtic

Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Arsenal
The first goal of the 2016/2017 Champions League group stages came after a mere 42 seconds from the head of Paris Saint Germain striker Edinson Cavani at the Parc des Princes against Arsenal.but the Gunners got out of jail with Alexis Sanchez's leveller inside the final quarter of an hour

Bayern Munich 5-0 Rostov
Guardiola's old side Bayern Munich, under new boss Carlo Ancelotti, ran riot over Russian side Rostov 5-0. Joshua Kimmich grabbed a second-half double, with Robert Lewandowski scoring from the penalty spot, birthday boy Thomas Mueller and Spanish defender Juan Bernat giving Bayern early custody of Group D.


PSV 0-1 ATHLETICO MADRID
A superb volley from Saul Niguez in the first half was enough for athletico to steal the show away from home; meanwhile,PSV missed a good chance to equalise immediately when Jan Oblak kept out Andres Guardado's penalty

Napoli 2-1 Dynamo Kiev
Napoli meanwhile may have lost their prolific goal-scoring machine Gonzalo Higuain  to Serie A rival Juventus, but his replacement, Arkadiusz Milik, earned them a 2-1 bounce back win at Dynamo Kiev.

Benfica 1-1 Besiktas
Franco Cervi's fine run and shot in the 12th minute looked to have got Benfica off to a winning start but deep in added time on-loan Talisca, playing against his parent club, equalised with a free-kick.


Basel 1-1 Ludogorets Razgrad
Jonathan Cafu netted on the stroke of half-time but Ludogorets were denied a first-ever away victory in the group stage by Renato Steffen's 80th-minute equaliser.

Club Brugge 0-3 Leicester City
Algeria international, Riyad Mahrez, was on good form for the English Premier League champions, Leicester City, he scored twice as the Foxes beat Club Brugge, in their first group game.

Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Group C opener was pushed back a day due to torrential rain and when they finally kicked off at the Etihad on Wednesday night, Argentine Sergio Aguero lit up the stage.
His hat-trick helped Pep Guardiola’s side to a 4-0 win and the perfect start to European campaign.

Bayer Leverkusen 2-2 CSKA Moskva
CSKA retrieved a 2-0 deficit before half-time  through Alan Dzagoev and Roman Eremenko.

Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Monaco
Beaten 4-1 away from home by Tottenham in the UEFA Europa League group stage last term, Monaco gained revenge at Wembley thanks to Bernardo Silva and first-half substitute Thomas Lemar.

Legia Warszawa 0-6 Borussia Dortmund
Legia's first Champions League group match since 1995/96 was a chastening one as Dortmund raced into a three-goal lead by the 17th minute. It got worse as six different BVB players found the back of the net.

Lyon 3-0 Dinamo Zagreb
Corentin Tolisso headed in the opener before  the quarter-hour mark. Jordan Ferri and Maxwel Cornet moved the contest beyond Dinamo in the second period.

Juventus 0-0 Sevilla
Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira fired blanks as Sevillaheld dominant but wasteful Juventusto a scoreless draw in their Champions Leagueopener, the Bianconeri could not repeat their home victory over Sevilla from last season.

Real Madrid 2-1 Sporting CP
Champions Leagueholders Real Madrid needed a late show from Cristiano Ronaldoand Alvaro Morata to come back from a goal down to beat Sporting Lisbon in their group stage opener at the Santiago Bernabeu
