A hero dog died after saving his owner’s family from four cobras.
The doberman stood his ground, killing the deadly snakes before they could reach Dibakar Raita’s family.
He successfully managed to fight off the snakes who were attempting to escape to drier ground.
Witnesses said the fight went on for quite a while and a lot of blood was shed during the fight.
But the dog did not stop until he had killed each of the four snakes so they wouldn’t harm the family.
The dog then collapsed from the poison in its blood from where the snakes had bit.
The family, who live in Sebekapur village of Gajapati district, is still in shock following the incident.
Villagers laid floral wreaths wreaths on the body of the dog and held a funeral procession before burying it.
