The hijacker of the Egypt Air plane has been arrested

The suspected hijacker of an EgyptAir airliner surrendered to authorities at Larnaca airport in Cyprus on Tuesday, Cypriot authorities said. The hijacker whose identity changed from being Ibrahim Samaha to Seid Eldin Mustafa diverted EgyptAir flight MS181 moving from Alexandria to Cairo. Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said the man who hijacked an Egypt Air plane and diverted it to Cyprus was an Egyptian national who had asked to meet European Union officials or to fly on to another airport. Apart from demanding that a letter to his former wife be sent to her, he also demanded that Egypt free an unspecified number of female prisoners. An Egyptian spokesman called him an ‘idiot’ and not a terrorist.
